THE RISK IS REAL

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that worldwide, there are about 69 million traumatic brain injuries per year. Of those injuries, 56 million are considered mild and are classified as concussions. We know that the vast majority of those concussions are accidents that occur during everyday activities. While it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact percentage that take place during sports, it likely amounts to several million concussions per year. That number likely grows even higher when you factor in how many concussions go undiagnosed.
  • According to the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan (Canada) in a study from 2002-2021 over half of the ice skating injuries (59%) were head and neck related.
  • According to injury statistics gathered by Frontiers in Public Health 2010 – 2019, cheerleading injuries in the United States exhibited an annual 15% decline in overall rates, but concussions increased by 44% annually, and hospitalization rates rose by 9%.
  • According to global statistics, seniors (aged 65 and older) experience the highest rate of head injuries compared to other age groups, with the most common cause being falls. Ageing Research Reviews Volume 99, August 2024, 102376

WARNING

  • Activities with a risk of head impact are dangerous. This product reduces the severity of such impacts. As with all headgear, it does not limit brain movement or prevent brain collisions within the skull if the impact is severe. For effectiveness, it should be worn snugly next to the head, like a sweatband. Improper placement or modification will decrease its effectiveness and increase the risk of head injury. This product is not a replacement for proper healing after an injury and does not eliminate the need for age-appropriate supervision; it does not make it safe to be fearless.
  • Safety Standards: Forcefield® Protective Headgear has been independently tested by INTERTEK and exceeds ASTM F2439 and European safety standards, certified by the world’s leader in testing PPE, Inspec EU and is so marked ASTM and CEII.
  • Note for Canadians: While the CSA standard for ice hockey helmets is recognized as the highest in the world, Forcefield® Protective Headgear is NOT CSA certified, as there are no CSA standards for this type of headgear. We encourage you to review our test data before purchasing.
  • You have undoubtedly evaluated the risk of a fall due to a CSA certified helmet affecting balance, vision, or hearing against the protection it provides. You’ve accepted the possibility of injury when participating in activities that require balance and control over your center of gravity. This product has been proven effective in over 20 sports and activities, offering better protection than wearing no gear at all.

It’s not mandatory. It’s up to you.

No matter how careful we are or how much we practice and train, accidental slips, trips and tumbles still happen. It’s a multi-billion-dollar healthcare problem. According to the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan (Canada) in a study from 2002-2021 over half of the ice skating injuries (59%) were head and neck related. According to injury statistics gathered by Frontiers in Public Health 2010 – 2019, cheerleading injuries in the United States exhibited an annual 15% decline in overall rates, but concussions increased by 44% annually, and hospitalization rates rose by 9%.

Many head injuries can be prevented. Wearing Forcefield Protective Headgear™ adds an extra layer of protection. Its patented design is expertly engineered to absorb and distribute the force of an impact. As a result, if you hit your head, the amount of force reaching your brain is reduced.
